Gabrielle Evans, Executive Producer, Wrong Way Films LLC

"I've been speaking at the Hollywood Jumpstart showcases while casting talent for some of my productions. As a casting director, the most wonderful thing about finding inspiring actors, seasoned actors, or new beginners during a showcase is that they're open to anything, they're flexible, and you just never know who you're going to meet.

As a casting a director, it's very important that actors know the tools of the trade while coming and enaging in this new exciting industry we have. Hollywood Jumpstart is wonderful and I give it a thumbs up for any agent or manager who submits his clients to come and take these workshops. I encourage them. I encourage any person sitting there who wants start getting into acting. "Where do I go?" That's always the question. "How do I get started?" Well, Hollywood Jumpstart is a great place to get started. To even come and rehearse with casting directors that are currently on productions.

Being located at Raleigh Studios, it's convenient for me to come and see new talent. I have some great new productions coming, I encourage everyone to come and take these workshops. Hollywood Jumpstart is to me, not just an acting class... they really care for their actors and the new inspirng talent in this wonderful indsutry we have. It is of course run and organized by Jill DeForest, who respects her teachers, and really wants to make this happen for the new inspiring actors.

So please come join Hollywood Jumpstart. You never know who I'll discover. It may be you!"

"Hollywood Jumpstart is definately a wonderful place and medium for talent to be able to showcase, and for agents to come down and see the talent. It's highly reccomended for parents and for the kids... I think that the parents feel safe here, that Jill is working hard in accordance with Hollywood Jumpstart to find the best fit for their kids and to find a good agency to represent their kids."

Linda Buchanan, Hollywood Jumpstart Parent

"Matthew has been asking me for several years to get into acting, and I had heard from a friend of mine about Hollywood Jumpstart. There was a showcase about a year ago, so I decided to go and spend the day and learn all about what it entails to become an actor. There were photographers, there were agents, producers, an acting coach, and just a lot of information about the how-to's with acting.

Since then, Matthew has signed with one of the agents that was interested in him, and goes on auditions probably one to two times a week. He's already landed his first job, which is very exciting.

In addition, he went to the Hollywood Jumpstart Camp this summer and learned a great deal from the coaches and the counselors. He had a wonderful time. It was at a movie studio, which even made it a little more exciting for him.

I highly reccomend Hollywood Jumpstart, they were even able to get the work permit, which was a big help because I really didn't know how to go about that. Highly reccommended, and he will definitely be going to the next showcase when that comes up."

"My son has always wanted to be an actor but I had no idea where to begin. I heard about Hollywood Jumpstart and registered both of us. We didn't know what to expect but we learned so much and Matthew had so much fun. He told me that "this was the best day of my life"! We received multiple call-backs in the following days from agents and Matthew was signed for Print, Commercial and Theatrical."

Kerry Wills, Hollywood Jumpstart Parent

"When my teenage son approached me with an interest in acting, one of the most tasks I was confronted with was finding the appropriate camp among all the many choices available to me.

I heard about Hollywood Jumpstart in a very positive local newspaper article. It sounded like me to the ideal camp. It was much more professional, and a lot more age-appropriate... something that would suit my son's needs.

It actually turned out much better than I anticipated. Michael got a lot out of the camp. And as a parent, they got his headshots done for him, they did his resume, and his work permit. All the while, he received exceptional acting training throughout the camp.

Michael enjoyed it so much he immediately signed up for an additional week."

Ken Johnson, Hollywood Jumpstart Parent

"Some things I liked about Hollywood Jumpstart... first, the location. I didn't have to drive the kids all the way down to Hollywood, or down to the valley, or North Hollywood for them to receive their training. It was right in the South Bay, which is a big plus. The second being at Raleigh Studios, I think is a great experience for the kids, being on the set where movies and music videos are made, is important to their training as well.

I think the overall approach to having working actors and people who are in the business, come and visit them, and be around them and teach them... I think is great exposure for them. The price is also great. It was reasonable within our budget, so we got to send both our boys. I would recommend for any parents looking for a way to get their kids into the business to at least to try Hollywood Jumpstart, and see what you think of it."

Matthew Buchanan, Summer Workshop Participant

"I attended the Hollywood Jumpstart Showcase, and I didn't know anything about acting. It was my first time... and I learned EVERYTHING about acting. There were coaches there, there were agents there, there were people that really know the business and they taught you what it's really about. I love acting, so I wanted to learn more. One of the agents who was there called me and said she wanted to sign with me... so I signed with her!

I wanted to learn a lot more about acting, so I went to the Hollywood Jumpstart Camp over the summer. I know so much more and I have so much more variety of knowledge about acting. If I hadn't have done that, I would not be where I am today. I've gone on auditions and gotten jobs, and it's really exciting.

The summer camp is really fun, and all the counselors and the coaches there really help you. I would not be where I am today without it. I'm going to go back every summer after this."

Jordan Johnson, Summer Workshop Participant

"This summer, I spent a week at the Hollywood Jumpstart Workshop. It was a lot of fun. There was an acting coach there who helped us read lines and better develop our characters. We also played a lot of fun improv games, and the staff was great. After the workshop, I went on auditions, and I felt that it really helped me when trying to develop my character. I think anyone should do it that's interested in acting. It's really fun."

"I did Hollywood Jumpstart over the summer. It was a lot of fun. I learned a lot of stuff... I got headshots and a resume. The coaches were really great. It was a lot of fun. We played a bunch of games and improv. I really liked filming the student film at the end. I think it was a really good experience. I loved it!"

Michael Wills, Summer Workshop Participant

"Hollywood Jumpstart Summer Camp was probably the best camp for me considering the other camps were pretty childish. This camp just seemed a little more professional. Out of this camp I got a headshot, a resume, and a well rehearsed monologue. They allowed me to participate in a lot of the student films considering I like filmmaking. Other than that, the classes were a lot of fun. The acting coach was amazing. The camp counselors were really great. Overall, I would say that Hollywood Jumpstart was the perfect camp for me."

Ruby Caldwell, Summer Workshop Participant

"I had a lot of fun at Hollywood Jumpstart because I got to meet a lot of new people, I got to perform a monologue in front of agents, I got to make my very first movie called Lemonade Etc., and I had fun with the acting coaches. Playing improv games was a lot of fun. It really brightened up my summer!"

"My friend told me about Hollywood Jumpstart and so I went with my parents. I learned a lot about the entertainment buisness, and it was very educational. Most importantly, I got signed with an agency. I suggest that anybody who wants to be in the entertainment business, should register with Hollywood Jumpstart, because it will explain everything you would want to know about the business. "
