General Information & Policies
We believe that we offer the finest acting classes and most qualified teachers in the South Bay. We also know that we cannot always offer exactly what every student needs at every stage of their development. That is why we are happy to offer the following guarantee: If after a student’s first class, you are not satisfied for any reason, we will cheerfully refund 100% of your tuition for the entire session.
Registration Fee: A non-refundable fee of $25 per student ($40 per family) is required yearly at time of registration.
Payment of Fees: Payments for classes are due at the time of Registration. This enables us to keep a more accurate count of how many students are enrolled for each class without overbooking classes.
- Our monthly tuition is based on a 4 week month. For months that offer five classes, one week may be taken off. We will let you know in advance which week that will be.
- Tuition is not prorated for absences. Please see the class Make-Up Policies.
- Monthly tuition is due by the 1st of each month. You will have a grace period from the 1st through the 10th to pay your child's tuition. After the 10th of the month a $10 LATE FEE will be charged.
** Each family is required to have a credit card on file or their checking account (ACH) information on file for payments.
You have the option to make payments as follows:
- Payments may be made in person by cash.
- Payments may be made by personal check. Please make your checks payable to Hollywood Jumpstart and please note the student's name, the program, class day and the time on the memo portion of your check. A $25 fee (and any additional court costs if necessary) will be assessed on all returned checks.
- Payments may be made by VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or AMEX
- You may pay online at our website - HollywoodJumpstart.com.
- We can set your account for automatic payments (Auto Pay) via your credit card or checking account, the first day of each month.

** If your child's monthly tuition is not paid on or before the 10th of the month, your credit card on file, or checking account information on file, will be charged for the monthly tuition fee, plus a $10.00 Late Fee. This will occur on the 11th of the month. You are not permitted to carry balances over from month to month. By signing your child up for classes at Hollywood Jumpstart you agree to the above payment policy.
Non-Sufficient Funds: There is a $25 fee for all NSF's.
Family/Multiple Class Discounts: There is a $25 Discount for each additional member of the immediate family or each additional class per student for all classes at Hollywood Jumpstart. This does not include private lessons.
Withdrawal and Refunds: There is a 2 month minimum for all classes. Two week notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone or email. To withdraw from any classes a parent or guardian must inform the studio in person and complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the studio office. All automatic bank debit and credit card charges will stop after the two-week notice period. Hollywood Jumpstart reserves the right to terminate classes to any student without notice. In such case a refund for unused classes will be given. If you pre-pay and drop in the middle of your session, the balance remaining will be a Hollywood Jumpstart credit good on tuition only.
Make-Up Policy: Just like college, your tuition pays for a class spot, REGARDLESS OF ATTENDANCE. However, as a courtesy, Hollywood Jumpstart offers make-ups when doing so does not jeopardize the safety or integrity of the class. Make-ups are a privilege. Hollywood Jumpstart reserves the right to refuse to offer a make-up if we feel it will affect safety or lessen the experience of those children who have registered for and paid for that class.
- Hollywood Jumpstart allows one make-up a month; however, we must be notified at least 24 hours in advance of absence for make-ups to be allowed. If we are not given at least 24 hours notice you will be charged for the class and cannot make it up.
- All make-ups must be scheduled in advance. Hollywood Jumpstart reserves the right to turn away unscheduled make-ups.
- To preserve the quality of class and to keep them from overcrowding, we allow students to schedule a make-up class only in classes that do not have full enrollment.
- A class may be made up at another class time during the same month of original missed class only. One make up class per month is allowed.
- Make-ups may not be carried over from one session to another.
- No credits or refunds will be given for classes not made up.
Substitutes: The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and cannot arrange a substitute, the missed classes will be made up.
Photo Release: Hollywood Jumpstart is hereby granted permission to take photos of the students to use in brochures, studio web site, posters, advertisements, or other promotional material. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photos in our name.
Cancelled Classes: Classes with less than three students may be cancelled, combined, or rescheduled at Hollywood Jumpstart’s discretion.
Arrival Time: All classes begin exactly on time. Please plan to arrive to class early with a few minutes to spare. Moms, Dads, Grandparents, etc. for the sake of your child as well as all of the other children, please be on time! Being late is far more difficult on a child than what many parents realize. In addition, it greatly distracts the rhythm of the class. The studio is not responsible for providing care before or after any class. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive time before or after class. Students should not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to their class and must be picked up within 15 minutes after their class has ended.
Class Cancellations: We hate to see you go but we realize that everyone will eventually grow up and move on. As a courtesy, we ask parents for a two week notice before the end of the month if their child is going to discontinue classes at Hollywood Jumpstart. This is so we can invite the next student on the waiting list to join the class the following month. Please Note: If two week written notice is not given, you will be billed for an additional two weeks.
Students enrolled in classes will be billed the 1st of each month until Hollywood Jumpstart receives a written cancellation. Cancellations are due two weeks prior to the last day of the month and may be submitted by:
- Coming into the studio and filling out a cancellation form
- Sending an email to info@HollywoodJumpstart.com
If you submit your cancellation by email, you will be contacted within two business days to confirm the receipt of your cancellation. If you do not hear from us, we did not receive your cancellation. Hollywood Jumpstart does not take responsibility for emails that were not successfully delivered. Please contact us ASAP if you have not heard from us regarding your cancellation. Any cancellations received on the 1st or after will take affect the following month as tuition will already have been billed.
